Osmanlı

According to historical sources, the oldest settlements were during the Roman Empire. Although the Karakayalar area is an old settlement, the large jars and vessels found in this area are still exhibited in the garden of the archaeological museum. The old pavement road (military road) comes to the Ottomans under Banarlı through Demirli Village. A few branches diverge here. Kabacalar locality is also on the pavement road. It is known that baths were built on these routes so that the soldiers could be cleaned. After the conquest of Tekirdağ in 1357, the Yoruks were settled in the old farm. According to the detailed tahrir (tax-registration book) dated 1515, the Ottoman village consisted of 20 households. Of these, 13 households were cultivators (couples), 4 households had no land (bennak), assistants, and 3 households were unmarried and unskilled. Its revenues belonged to the palace. According to the records in the cadastral register dated 1572, there were 3 farms within the borders, and there were 9 yamaks (who did not go to war but gave help and pocket money) and 3 müsellem (who participated in the war during the war). Again, according to the detailed cadastral registers, the dirlik owners of the village changed from time to time. Among these people were the commander in charge of the palace horses and grooms (emir-i Ahur), one of the aghas who was assigned to foreign services in the palace organization called Ottoman erkan-ı birun, Çakırcıbaşı Gazanfer Ağa, and the mirlivas (commanders with the rank of major general in the Ottoman period). With the collapse of the fief system after 1850, the notables of the village who worked the farm bought the land. With the republican period, our citizens from Bulgaria were also settled in the village. Therefore, the village consists of two districts, the local district and the immigrant district. Many people migrated to the Ottoman village in 1934-35 from the villages of Silistra, which was within the borders of today's Bulgaria, Romania at that time. Some of the Turkish immigrants, especially from the villages of Keçiler Mahallesi, Docalar, Piriköy, Totrakan, Kilikâdı, Çiğrekçi, were settled in the Ottoman Village. In addition, some of the immigrants from these villages were settled in villages such as Banarlı, Karabezirgan and Ortaca, except for the Ottoman Village. It is estimated that this group, which is described as immigrants, was sent to Silistra towards the middle of the 15th century (1420s and 30s) from the Konya-Karaman region and they are ethnically Turkmen. The section of the village called Muhacir Neighborhood was built by the CHP government of the period under the leadership of İsmet İnönü, and 10 acres of land per person was allocated to the immigrants.

It is 18 km from Süleymanpaşa. The village campus is in a hilly area.

The economy of a village depends on agriculture and husbandry. Agriculture is developed and the most modern techniques are applied. Important livelihoods are wheat and sunflower. Beet, corn and watermelon cultivation is carried out in the parts where the irrigation canal passes. Canola is cultivated, albeit partially. The village is very rich in agricultural land. Apart from irrigation channels, there are 3 ponds in the village pasture and are used for irrigation purposes. The most fertile agricultural lands of the village are in Çitme and Dört Tepeler regions. Livestock farming has gained importance in the village in recent years. Cattle breeding and fattening are especially popular. There is a primary school in the village, but besides it cannot be used, transportation education is used. The village has a drinking water network and the sewerage network has been completed. There is no PTT branch or agency. There is a health home. The road that provides access to the village is asphalt and there is electricity and fixed telephone (internet) in the village.

The population of 2019 is 333 people. After Tekirdağ gained the metropolitan status on December 6, 2012, all villages turned into neighborhoods.
